Clouds And The Wall

Clouds And The Wall

The clouds roll up to the mountain and get stopped or go over. The weather in the Rockies is ever changing.

Three Sisters Rays

Three Sisters Rays

The Three Sisters near Canmore, Alberta are a striking mountain formation. Long time readers of my blog will have seen other images of this landmark. In this image, I liked the light rays streaming through the fog.

Open Water

Open Water

This image was taken in 2009 on Darwin Wiggett’s Fire & Ice Photo Tour. The location is Graveyard Flats on the Icefields Parkway between Banff and Jasper National Parks. The snow encroaching on the open water is just over knee deep and there were significantly deeper spots getting to this location. I remember it as the beautiful day that it appears to be here. One of the things I love about photography is that it preserves your memories.

Clear To The Mountains

Clear To The Mountains

Looking to the south-southwest towards the Rocky Mountains just west of Pincher Creek, Alberta, is a spectacular vista. In this case the mountains are overshadowed by the amazing clouds. I liked the the distant bright patch of green where an opening in the cloud cover allowed the sun to shine through. The clouds are definitely the focal point in this image, but my eye seems to wander around through the mountains, the bright field, down to the fence line and back up to the clouds.
