Right beside the Trans-Canada Highway between Revelstoke and Sicamous, BC, there is this picturesque hotel that is wedged into a deep mountain valley. The part of the hotel in the sunlight stands out brightly with it’s red roof next to the golden and amber deciduous trees. You can see where a small cloud is casting a shadow against the mountain side on the left.

From a few years back, dawn on Shuswap Lake in the fall. The mist rising in the cold morning air being lit by the first rays of the sun on the surface of the lake marks another day. You can barely make out the ridge on the far shore a a pair of mergansers paddle past.. The sunrise turns the mist a golden hue
