The Lions Sleep Tonight

The Lions Sleep Tonight

A lone car streaks across an empty bridge in this five second time exposure. The Centre Street Bridge has long been one of my favourite subjects. The small aperture in the lens creates starbursts on the street lamps.

Under The Bridge

Under The Bridge

While crossing over a pedestrian bridge on the Elbow River, I heard the sound of talking and laughing. It was coming from under the bridge. I leaned out over the guard rail and grabbed a few frames. In only one the young girl has her head turned with a smile. In this case, the vertical format leads the eye up into the image. I converted to black and white in Silver Efex Pro to remove the colour and focus on the contrasting forms and textures.

Old Bridge At East Coulee

Although it was partly cloudy in the area, the subject and background were evenly shadowed. The patina of the old wooden structure nearly matched the hills in the background. The railroad tracks have been long abandoned but the bridge is adjacent to the Atlas Coal Mine National Historic Site.

Creating A Panorama

University Of Lethbridge To The High Level Bridge

A quick and easy method.

I was out scouting locations with Mike Fitton on June 23rd. We were looking for vantage points to view the University of Lethbridge from across the river.

View From The Peace Bridge

Looking to the west from the bridge, you can see a C-Train crossing the Bow River on the next bridge up stream. Beyond that is the Louise Bridge that connects 10th Street Northwest to downtown Calgary.
