Sometimes when you are out shooting pictures, you get really focused on the “trophy” shots, the sweeping vistas and grand landscapes. Occasionally you need to step up and take a closer look at the environment and find something eye catching. I thought the patterns of snow and ice on the rocks inside the falls looked interesting.

There is something about the sun coming out from the clouds that seems to just brighten my day. It’s warming, even on a cold and frosty day like this one.

When out shooting with a group, it is sometimes hard to keep people out of your shot, but sometimes their tracks still get included. It makes me wonder where they were going and why I don’t see them in the distance.

A contrast in textures, with the rough mountain face above, the soft snow below and the shaggy trees between.

I love the mountains. One of my favourite things about living in this area, is to be able to visit places like this and to photograph them. The beautiful sunny day and the crisp snow do their best to highlight this mountain.
