Prairie Sunset

Prairie Sunset

One of the beautiful things about living on the prairies is the magnificent views available if you just get out of town. Sunset is often a spectacular time of day.

When driving somewhere, I often take a cross country route, taking secondary highways and even some gravel roads. It takes longer because I drive slower but I see more and if I leave earlier, I have time to stop and take pictures. I saw this tree and knew that I had to stop and make a photograph. It made me wonder how long it had been there and what it took for it to survive. I think that there is a small dugout behind, hidden by the limbs. Close enough to the water hole to drink in and escape the plow. I think the lesson that I learned here was, that perseverance will get you farther in the end.

Lesley In Winter

Lesley In Winter

While we were out shovelling snow, our friend and neighbour came over to help. While I was set up from the picture of Sherri from the last post, I convinced Lesley to get her picture taken too. She had been working hard and still had snow on her hat.

Sherri In The Snow

Sherri In The Snow

Dave Brosha has a new project photographing his family. He challenged everyone to do their own family project. I started with the easiest for me to do, my wife Sherri. We were out clearing out the snow from the sidewalks and I stopped and grabbed my camera, flash and a reflector. #‎thefamilyproject‬
