Almost Empty Field

 

Sometimes, for whatever reason, a hay bale gets left behind. Occasionally, they get picked up but this one got caught in an early season snowstorm. You can see where the wind left a large drift that wraps around the bale on the windward side. At sometime, a coyote has visited this bale to discover if mice have made their home here. Life, in a microcosm.
