My wife Sherri and I went on our first photo drive of the year on New Year’s Day. We usually jump into the vehicle with the cameras in the back at least an hour before sunset. Having a specific destination is not necessary. Mostly we head in a westerly direction to take advantage of viewing the Rocky Mountains in the distance. I hope to do more of these evening or afternoon photography jaunts this year. It helps to be more familiar with your equipment.
We managed to get some great color just after sunset. In this typical scene from the border of Mountain View & Rockyview Counties, you can see large round hay bales in the foreground and the Rocky Mountains in the background.
