Vermillion Sunrise

Vermillion Sunrise

A classic scene from Banff National Park, the sunrise over Mount Rundle and the Vermillion Lakes is one of the most photographed scenes. To me, it doesn’t matter who has photographed a location before me. If you try to not compare yourself to others, perhaps you can approach any situation with a view of your own. I often find that when shooting at workshops, I’ll be setup beside other photographers, and we’ll each come back with something quite different. So don’t sweat it, work a scene and shoot what you like. And if you do like a location, and are able to return, do come back and shoot it again. Every day is different and the photographic choices that you make will make each shot different. This is the start to developing your own style, you just need to get out and shoot.

In the best light…
