Evening Pump Jack

The pump jack is an icon on the Alberta prairies. They are used to bring the oil to the surface after the drilling rig has completed it’s job. I let it go to a near silhouette against the evening sky.

  1. You see them also in the northwest of China (Heilongjiang province). At first I had wondered what they were. Lonely little machines.
