Near Bow Falls
This is one of my favorite images from my morning in Banff National Park with Dave Brosha and Stephen DesRoches.
I like the way that the west end of Mount Rundle looms over the Bow Valley below Bow Falls. The lightly falling snow makes the mountain seem ghostly, like it was watching over the Banff Springs Hotel.
Bow Falls was frozen over with only a small channel with open water flowing. The new snow was so white there was hardly any detail visible in it. We keep trying and shoot what’s in front of us. For better or worse, we have to use what we’ve got whether it’s scenery or gear. We deal with the limitations.
