Sawback Fog

Sawback Fog

A shaft of light burned through the fog on the Sawback Range in Banff National Park. It lit up the folds and crevasses on the rocky peak.

I used Nik Software’s Color Efex Pro 4 in Adobe Lightroom and added Glamour Glow to enhance the fog. I thought the results reminded me of a Fredric Church painting.

Fredric E. Church – Morning In The Tropics, ca. 1858, The Walters Art Museum, Baltimore, MD

Not similar in the subject matter but in the quality of the light, not that I’m really comparing myself to Fredric Church.

I’m always watching the light when I’m out and about, it’s what can make a good image a great one.

In the best light…

  1. That effect has really enhanced an already good shot. I used to use the glamour glow preset quite often but forgot about it! Thanks for reminding me! 🙂
