Sam’s Ten Tips–#8–Back To The Light

Earlier this year I attended an Oopoomoo.com workshop in Trochu, Alberta at the historic St Ann Ranch. The workshop was named Badlands, Buicks and Old Buildings and our instructors were Darwin Wiggett and Samantha Chrysanthou. One of Sam’s presentations was called Ten Tips. Here’s my take on her exercises.

Lookouts

Back To The Light

Work back light for dramatic silhouettes or to illuminate transparent subjects like grass, crops and tree leaves.

The kittens were at play in the morning sun at St. Ann Ranch. The low light came across the field and created a nice rim light on the frolicking cats. I was able to preserve some detail in their fur with the golden light in the background.

All of Sam’s Ten Tips are named after song titles.

In the best light…
