Stacked In The Barn

Stacked In The Barn

Sometimes you look at a scene and the light immediately attracts you. A friend of mine was showing me the stable where he keeps his horses. After getting a tour of the stalls, we were walking back out when I saw the soft light from the doorway falling on hay bales stacked in the corner. The subtle gradation from light to dark beckoned to me. The limited color was a natural choice for black and white. The fine detail adds strength to the image.

After converting the image to monochrome in Nikon Capture NX2 using Nik Color Efex Pro 3.0, I added the frame in Nik Snapseed.
