It’s A Small World
My friend Darin invited me to see the scale model trucks that he’s been making. He’s been constructing and customizing model kits for many years and has been showing his finished product at the Western Canadian Regional Model Contest.
The Kenworth LW900 Logging Truck was a winner at last year’s contest. I’m sure the judges were impressed by the details, including the handmade tire chains!
This year’s entry and category winner is a ‘70s era White Freightliner cabover truck with a matching flat deck trailer.
The detail is amazing down to the door insignia from the now defunct Tri-Line Freight Systems to the hand made tie down straps on the trailer.
The three models that Darin brought to Nanton to the show.
All of the above images were shot using my Nikon D300s and Nikkor 60mm f/2.8 Micro lens. I was shooting hand held on the show floor. Ideally it would have been nice to set up a better background and use a tripod. I would have been able to use a smaller aperture for better Depth of Field, requiring a slower shutter speed.
Have you examined a macro world lately?
In the best light…
