Old Stuff

That Old House

Old buildings have a lot of character, which is what makes them interesting.

The weathered wood brings out the grain, and the colors are either enhanced or bleached out by the sun. Often they have interesting brick or stone work. The open window can be both inviting and mysterious.

Old Thresher In The Snow

Old farm machinery is also a favorite subject and can make for some interesting detail shots. That is if you are wearing higher boots than I was that day. I’m sure I’d have been up to my knees in snow crossing the ditch and was only wearing low hiking shoes. Oh well, maybe another time.

In the best light…

  1. Hey John!

I love these snowy images where the pale winter sun, what I like to call ‘winter light’ gently falls on these old relics. Evocative images.
