Visual Wilderness Contest Entry

Sunrise On Vishnu Temple From Yaki Point

This is my entry to the contest “American Landscapes” on the Visual Wilderness website.

Almost a year after getting my first DSLR, I packed up my Wife and my Mom, and took them on MY dream vacation to the Four Corners region. The Grand Canyon was one of the highlights of the trip. I took the bus to Yaki Point in the dark but missed the sign that said the transfer point had changed and missed the bus I wanted, and ended up arriving on location later than I wanted. The sun was already up but it was starting to illuminate deeper into the canyon. I liked the raying effect and the backlighting on the foreground trees.

Thanks to Samantha Chrysanthou for the reminder to enter. The contest closes Monday February 28, 2011, so you don’t have much time. Go to the forums to enter. http://www.visualwilderness.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=4

Don’t forget to check out the rest of the site. There are some great eBooks on the website, all reasonably priced; some are free!

In the best light…
