Llama Afternoon

The Greeting

There is a herd of llamas that live a couple of miles from our house. We like to go visit them every once in a while. Some days I strike out and don’t get any good pictures. On this day, the evening light was warm and glowing, perfect for amazing images.


Golden Grasses

A little back lighting and shooting directly at the setting sun makes everything else in the frame turn a golden color and puts a nice rim lighting on the grazing llama. There’s also a bit of light reflecting off of the lake below.


Both the old fella and the young one are interested in something to my left, probably my wife Sherri picking some grass. I thought the shallow focus emphasised the big guy in the foreground.

    • I think he’s going to need his coat for a little while, it’s -20c / -4f around here lately! 😉
