Ansel And The Grand Tetons
Ansel Adams “The Tetons – Snake River,” Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming
U.S. National Archives’ Local Identifier: 79-AA-G01
I don’t remember the first time I saw the above image, but it had to be more than 30 years ago. Ansel Adams has been the inspiration for me as long as I’ve known about photography and for a lot of my travel over the years. This year was the first time I visited Grand Teton National Park.
Here’s a homage to Ansel, a little closer to the river and a bit upstream on the Snake River near Oxbow Bend.
Another Oxbow Bend image with a dramatic sky reflecting in the Snake River. The entire time we were at Oxbow Bend, it threatened to rain.
Staying with the black and white theme, the above image is of Firehole Falls on the Firehole River in Yellowstone Park.
A week is barely enough time to scratch the surface of both parks. It’s just an invitation to spend more time there.
