… and Be There!

Off the Rails

I was in Kamloops, BC when my phone rang. My wife Sherri called to say there had be a train derailment just south of the town where we live. Luckily there were no deaths or serious injuries. As I was on my way to Vancouver, it was not possible to take a look for myself and shoot images. This was when she piped up and said “I’d better get out there and get some pictures”

Two Locomotives and a number of container cars with assorted ocean containers left the rails and ended up in the ditch.

Boys will be boys

I thought this picture was priceless, with the two boys trying to get closer to investigate for themselves. You can see the double stacked cars in front, still attached to the car.

Check out Sherri’s Photostream.

  1. In this photo I can feel and taste and smell the small townish flavour. I like it, especially with the two boys. Their wonder is palpable.

  2. Imogene

Taber had a train derailment similar to yours a number of months ago. I slept right through it. It wasn’t that far from where I live either. I probably thought the cars were hooking up and unhooking on a spur. Since I like the sound of the train, it’s kind of an everyday occurence to hear noises from them.
