View To Mount Brett
This week I’m presenting a series of vertical images taken on a recent trip to Banff National Park. I won’t be verbose as I know people are busy with the holidays this week, as am I.
People often shoot with one camera position, most often it is in a horizontal or landscape format. The vertical or portrait format offers a different view on subjects.
The foreground trees form strong vertical lines that the vertical format enhances. The wide spot in the river was somewhat featureless without the trees. Shooting horizontal through the trees looked to divide the image. I preferred the portrait format where the smaller tree seems to point the way to Mount Brett.
In the best light…

Great photo, and you are so right. Sometimes just changing our format can change the whole image! Nicely done my friend.
